I was running really low on dog food Friday night and made a quick run to the pet store to buy more. I usually don’t let it get that low, but hey it happens. We have tried many different brands but Bil-Jac is the one she likes to eat so that’s what I get.
Well, I wasn’t paying close enough attention and grabbed the small breed puppy instead of the small breed adult. Sooooo, Saturday night, I noticed that she was a bit more active than normal at that hour. Took her for a good, long walk Sunday morning and evening yet Sunday night she was pretty hyper.
When we went for our walk this morning, she was so high strung that I had to ask her (as if she could answer) what in the a** is going on with you lol? It was not until we got back that I noticed the bag said puppy food.
Now I know puppy food is supposed to contain more nutrients for a growing puppy, but I’m starting to think it has some kind of upper in it. Butterfly is two years old and has not been this frantic since I switched her to adult food. Maybe there are more calories or something and she feels the extreme urge to burn them, but I’d swear there was caffeine or something in it.
I have to go back to the pet store to get the proper food today, but I am considering sprinkling a bit of the puppy food on her regular food. I don’t mind the boost just not at this current "off the chain" level. Is there any reason I should feel hesitant about this?
